See diagram for the standard method to lace a corset: 1. Start lacing from the top of the corset working down towards the bottom. 2. When you have reached the waistline of the corset, you will want to create a puller loop on each side. To create right side puller loop, follow lacing diagram A-D. When you have reached the grommet corresponding to A, skip down on the opposite side to grommet B. From grommet B, loop back through grommet C. From C, skip down to grommet D. 3. You will repeat this process on the opposite side with the other lacing strand to create a corresponding left-side puller loop. 4. When the left and right puller loops have been created, lace down the rest of the corset and knot at the bottom. Helpful Hints for Wearing a Corset 1. ALWAYS loosen the lacing five or six inches before putting on corset. Wrap the corset around the torso, center it, and then fasten the front closure. 2. Use the puller loops to tighten the corset from the back. The top half of the loop controls the bottom half of the corset and the bottom half of the loop controls the top half of the corset, respectively. Pull slowly and evenly, manipulating the lacing until an even gap is achieved. Cross the pullers and tie them together in a bow. 3. When first wearing a corset, it is best to start with a large gap (4” approximately) and tighten down as you become accustomed to being cinched. Faintness, light-headedness, and soreness are signs that your corset is is too tight. A corset should always be comfortable. 4. The more frequently you wear a corset, the tighter you will be able to lace it. Download a printer friendly version of this page How to Wear and Lace a Corset Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader
